aof2(APRIL 15, 2014) – Dine Alone Records / New Damage and Alexisonfire have announced the release of a 2nd Edition AOF vinyl box set. The box set highlights AOF’s studio LP pressings and will be available to pre-order today at and  Pre-orders will begin shipping August 2014.  See below for full details of the box set contents.
The custom-designed box set released last December — which included audiophile re-pressings of AOF studio releases as well as coveted long out-of-print EPs — was limited to 1,000 copies.  It sold out in less than 40 minutes worldwide much to the chagrin of fans who tried to get their hands on the discography before it sold-out.  After heeding fan’s overwhelming feedback for individual pressings, the band decided to create the 2nd edition which includes an exclusive slipmat design, as well as a lower price point of $120. Each title, along with the actual empty box, will also be offered individually for fans wishing to complete their own collections. Here is a message from George Pettit on the band’s website regarding the new box set.

“We are doing a 2nd Edition of the AOF box set. It’s slightly smaller than the original press and it’s a bit cheaper. It contains all of the studio albums on beautiful 180 gram 2xLP’s. The first press will remain nice and rare and special for all the psychopaths who got up early on Christmas Day to buy it; in all sincerity, that was amazing and we love you for that.  So this is a good way to get all the AOF LP’s in one shot but lets say you hate Dog’s Blood or Crisis (pfft, we all know you love crisis. Clearly the best AOF record…) and you don’t want them…you’re in luck because all of our albums will be pressed individually and sold a la carte. They will also be available in your local independent record stores near the end of the summer, should you feel the need to be charitable to a dying part of what was once a vibrant and profitable music industry.  Lots of love” – George Pettit

Last year, George Pettit, Dallas Green, Wade MacNeil, and Jordan Hastings sat down on camera at Dine Alone HQ to chat about each release and their favourite AOF memories.  (Chris Steele, who is travelling around the world, was there in spirit.)  Watch the videos at:

Hailing from St. Catharines, Alexisonfire rose up out of the Southern Ontario underground in late 2001, to become one of the most successful indie bands in Canada. The band’s success also reached far beyond Canada’s borders. AOF released four hugely successful studio albums, Alexisonfire (2002), Watch Out (2004), Crisis (2006), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009). Crisis debuted at #1 on the Top 200 Soundscan chart (Canada), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals debuted at #2, and charted at #9 on the US Billboard Independent Album chart. Watch Out helped earn the band New Group of the Year at the 2004 JUNO Awards. Their first 3 albums achieved Platinum certification in Canada while Old Crows / Young Cardinals reached Gold certification. The band also topped charts and graced several notable music magazine covers internationally (Kerrang, Blunt, Big Cheese, Canadian Musician, Exclaim!). AOF’s sold-out 10th Year Anniversary Farewell tour in December 2012 touched down on four continents in 24 days, illustrating how meaningful the band still is to their legion of fans around the world.
