The 5 bands that didn’t get a JUNO nomination that you need to check out.

Super indie band Half Moon Run has now sold over 10,000 albums in Canada. They just signed to Glassnote Entertainment Group, the same people who signed Phoenix and Mumford and Sons

Matt Mays disappeared for a few years only to return with the strongest release of his career in Coyote. Look for Mays on tour with The Gaslight Anthem this spring.

Metz is metal? Punk? New! Signed to Sub Pop Records Metz is one to watch over the next year.

Did nobody submit “The Sticks” by Mother Mother for a JUNO? I talked to Ryan months ago suggesting I’d see them in Regina this April. He doubted it saying “The JUNO people don’t like us”. I’m sure they do like Mother Mother but it appears the voting committee missed them again.

2 years ago Whitehorse played before 100 people, on March 2nd the band will play Massey Hall in Toronto and the show will likely sell out! Not many bands go from 100 – 2400 in only 2 years.
